Color Theory

The three primary colors are RED, BLUE, and YELLOW.

 Secondary colors are created when you mix two primary colors together. For example, when you mix blue with yellow, you get green. Therefore green is a secondary color.

Tertiary colors are created when you combine one secondary color with a primary color, or two secondary colors with each other. For example, when you combine blue with magenta, you get violet.

Additive color is when color is created by the mixing of visible light emitted from differently colored light sources. Subtractive color is when color is created by the removing of visible light.

When one color is darker than those surrounding it, it appears to be farther away from us. In contrast, when a color is lighter than those surrounding it, it appears to be closer to us.

Colors affect each other with color intensity.  A color’s intensity changes in relation to its surrounding color.
