This first photo was saved originally as a JPEG. I then saved it as different kinds of GIFs PNGs and JPEGs. They are presented from most compression to least. The highest quality version is the PNG-24, and the smallest file size is the JPEG-low with 9KB. The photo with the best quality and file size is the JPEG high because it still retains a crisp image with a low file size.
This next image is originally saved as a PNG. I again saved it in the different formats. The highest quality photo is the PNG-24 again, and the lowest file size is also the JPEG-low. This time, the golden mean of both quality and size is the PNG-8-128. Its file size is 16KB and has a very crisp look.
